    Have you ever wanted to know more about the apostle Paul? In this unit, you will be able to learn about Paul by studying the letters that he wrote as well as the book of Acts. You will be able to explore how Paul navigated complex topics such as inclusion, church leadership and politics. You will also learn the skills to understand and apply the letters of Paul to your own life and ministry.

  • Learning Activities

    Teaching and learning in the unit occur through various student-centered learning experiences. Apart from undertaking assessment-for-learning tasks, students will engage with guided readings, exegetical exercises, knowledge application exercises, reflections, video lessons, etc. Online tutorials, workshops, and student presentations will provide spaces for peer-to-peer learning and developing discipline-specific (exegesis)and soft skills.

    *This unit is offered at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. Students may engage with people across both levels when this unit is delivered.

    Upon successful completion of this unit, it is expected that students will be able to:

    1. Explore the historical background for Paul's life and ministry.

    2. Evaluate the main aspects of Pauline theology and practice.

    3. Exegete selected passages from Paul's letters.

    4. Articulate the relevance of Paul's mission and theology in contemporary contexts.

    5. Integrate insights from Paul's letters into life, ministry, or theological conversations about current ecclesial and public issues.
